Wooden Climbing Frame Shop

There is nothing quite like playing on a wooden climbing frame. The natural feel of wood against the skin is great and the feeling is equally good in the summer as well as the winter, unlike metal climbing frames that are either freezing cold or boiling hot.

This type of outdoor play equipment looks great in the garden or in the yard and they are one of the most eye catching sights on the municipal play parks in your neighborhood and of course they are far more appealing than those metal climbing frames that really used to be the only type of outdoor play equipment that parents could buy for their children. We have gone back in time but in this instance that is a good thing.

In fact a lot of my friends have been so fascinated by the thought of natural wood products that they have bought into some beginners woodworking projects and have looked at and bought this product which they though was great fun click here.

The idea of childrens wooden climbing frames is of course not a new idea and is really quite old fashioned. It comes back from the days of the old wooden sailing ships that used to be the main form of transport around the world. Young boys would often go to sea in those days as cabin boys  and would quite often be asked to climb up the rigging to the top of the sail and shimmy along the wood masts to unfurl the sails.

This activity kept the boys very fit as there was nowhere else to exercise on the boat and it provided a natural outlet for them to use up some of their youthful energy.

The idea was brought back into the mainland and was especially used in the cities so that there would be somewhere for children to play which was in a confined area and that was both safe and adventurous as they would soon become adventure climbing frames in the playground along with children’s monkey bars that were introduced around the same time.

The adventures of the old sea dogs could be lived out in the streets of New York or London by the city kids.

The wooden climbing frame also has roots in the battle for the Old West in the US where soldiers would build wooden forts, wood being the natural building material of the time and in plentiful supply, in order to protect themselves and give them a base from which to go forward and forge new frontiers.

These days kids still play out those days in the garden where they can climb up wooden ladders and crouch behind the walls of there make believe forts.

Theses days you can order bespoke wooden climbing frames as well as the more usual commercial wooden climbing frames, it all depends on how far your budget will stretch.

Installing this type of outdoor play equipment will take several hours and quite often it seems like a good idea to get the manufacturers to install the kit and that way you are at least ensured that these outdoor play structures are fitted properly and you would not be liable should an injury occur. You should always check your insurance policy about this though to make sure that you are covered should something unfortunate happen.

A wooden climbing frame is an excellent investment into your child’s exercise regime and they are also great for fueling the imagination and most importantly they are fun and they look good too.

There are plenty of places to buy your wooden climbing frame and one of the best places is on the internet where you can compare prices, specifications and delivery times.
